Disney World

By Mommy24-7 | May 12, 2008

Also keeping me busy/preoocupied is my trip planning for our Disney vacation! I’m so excited but it is time consuming! Sure, we are going to have a great time and could just go and enjoy but I am making sure I’m planning EVERYTHING! I’m doing touring plans and covering all my bases. I’m really happy with all my plans so far but have a lot to still cover.

We’ll be meeting up with friends this weekend who were just there a few weeks ago. Another friend just returned from her family trip this past weekend and yet another friend leaves for her family’s trip tomorrow! We go in June! It’s fun that so many people I know are going or have gone at practically the same time!  R’s VERY excited but she’s 3, I want her to just relax and enjoy…sometimes that’s hard when I keep telling her “Mommy is trying to plan our vacation, I can’t play right now.” She has NO idea how much planning is going into this (and she shouldn’t). I just hope I can get through this week’s yard sale prep and sale, continued vacation planning, R’s summer camp starting tomorrow, and a board meeting I’m holding in my currently messy house on Thurs!

This week is also my mom’s b-day and B’s b-day!!! My parents may be coming over on Sunday to celebrate both. So, sometime I’ll be baking a cake too! :) Honestly, I can’t wait to use my Kitchen Aid mixer!! I have yet to use it…it just sits and taunts me each day. Back to yard sale fun!

Glasses…

By Mommy24-7 | May 12, 2008

I only wear glassses when I have to… after I take my contacts out at night and before I put them back in, in the morning. But, I am wearing them now :( I’ve been getting major headaches and migraines lately. For the past few days I’ve noticed some blurry vision but kept forgetting to replace my contacts. I put new ones in today… now BOTH eyes have blurs…it was only my right eye till now. So, I’m hoping it’s just allergy related and decided to give my eyes a rest for today and wear the glasses. At least I can see clearly but I’m not used to wearing them so everything “moves” when I turn my head and I have to keep pushing them up since glasses never stay up on my nose :(

I am trying to get ready for a huge yard sale on Sat. and in the process clean/organize etc. So the glasses are just one more obstacle to deal with. Well, as I came online to write this and check some other things I learned about the earthquake in China. So many natural disasters happening lately. I will be thankful that it’s just a rainy day here and keep pushing up my glasses.

Minor vent of the day (in the grande scheme)

By Mommy24-7 | May 1, 2008

The last person to use a car should fill up the gas tank if it’s on empty.

If that person cannot do that for whatever reason (say, in a hurry to get somewhere else) that person has the responsibility to NOTIFY the other driver of the car who will use it next.

Ex. Today, on my daughters last day of preschool, we left just in time to get her there. So, when I saw the gas light blazing in my face as we pulled out of the driveway, I was a tad annoyed. Get gas…get her to school on time? Hope that I don’t run out on the way and she misses her last day as we wait on the side of the road….

Well we made it to her school and luckily there was a gas station a few minutes away. I felt so much better driving home on a full tank rather then hoping and praying I wouldn’t spend the whole time she was in preschool stranded somewhere. Oh, yea…cuz I also forgot me cell phone on the way out!  (Whole different vent on myself there…)

Happy May!

Sick

By Mommy24-7 | April 28, 2008

Plain and simple…feeling blech. Had a nice weekend, now I’m fighting a cold/allergies. R was so good today, allowing me to rest and basically do nothing. Days like this are frustrating for so many reasons. I’ve had so much hot tea today…lots of different flavors…most with honey. No work out today obviously…argh.

Ooops

By Mommy24-7 | April 22, 2008

Well, this is what happens when I don’t post for 3 months! My last post about finding my blog was just written today but as you can see it is dated in January…that is because I wrote over my last post from January… oy. Well, it was only about my hubby starting his “biggest loser” weight loss program…nothing much to it except for me complaining that it comes off quick for men. He has since lost a lot (forget the number?) and looks GREAT! I am following in his footsteps and have a regular workout thing going…feeling “better” but not seeing any big changes or fitting into my old clothes yet. Anyway… I had a few comments on that lost post that are now attached to the one I just wrote over it :) La la la…. good night!

Has anyone seen my blog?

By Mommy24-7 | January 20, 2008

Well, I know I haven’t! Eek. You know it’s been a long time when you can’t log into your OWN blog!! Ah, well, life is busy!

My daughter had her 3rd b-day in February…wonderful time! I am proud to announce she is now a full time sleeper in HER room! Amazing…thought it would never happen.

Just got a new car from my grandparents… they can’t drive anymore and were awesome enough to pass the car on to us! I love my current car, but will be passing that over to my hubby and he’s selling his car. I’ll miss my sunroof…but the new car has more room for “everything” including a future baby #2 …not in progress yet! Sadly, my grandfather’s in the hospital now. I’m glad we were there to visit this weekend (to get the car etc) and help get him the help he needed. Hoping and praying for a speedy recovery. Still waiting for more information. Grampy is 90 and still very “with it” mentally. It’s sad…aging. I hope that our visit did *something* to brighten his day… R drew them a pic and he was happy to see her. Remaining positive and waiting…

We got hit hard with taxes this year. Our insurance changed last year so we’ve been getting higher medical bills and then to owe so much in taxes…ugh. We really weighed our choices and didn’t know what to do in the big picture…vacation, house, debt etc. We came to the conclusion that we won’t be able to move this year as planned…and although it would be best in the long run to save, the money we get from selling his car and any extra pennies from my ebay/amazon/consignment sales are going toward our vacation…to Disney World!! We’re so excited about that. Didn’t think it would happen. We talked about it, but it was always “not going to happen.”

The main reason we want to do it NOW, is because we want to take R so much! She will LOVE it. She loves amusement parks, Disney and being a Princess. She can’t wait to fly in a big airplane, swim at our resort, go to all the parks and meet all the characters!! It really WILL be magical! She’s at such a great age. We’d love to save money by planning long in advance but like I said, we’re going now for lots of reasons, but mainly because we’d like to give R a baby brother or sister but take her to Disney before I am pregnant or we have a baby. When pregnant, you can’t do much at all and I want to ride the rides and have at least as much energy as possible for everything else. We went on a cruise when I was pg with R and I was SICK the whole time.

So much other stuff going on…just basic day to day but keeping me nutz. I’m almost at the end of my year on the board for my momsclub…it’s been great but I am so looking forward to not doing it anymore. I will be a member but need to drop the additional board duties! Hopefully that will give me some extra minutes in a day.

Trying to get ready for a town yard sale… need to organize and get stuff OUT.  As I mentioned, I’ve also been selling to consignment, ebay, amazon and donating other stuff. I just want organization.

Since we won’t be moving anytime soon, I’d REALLY like to have some things done with our house. Of course we still plan to move asap so I don’t want to put money that we don’t have into anything too big but we’re here now and I’d like to enjoy it. Little by little I guess.

R’s 2 days of preschool this week are times I plan on using to tackle the organizing…so I better get to sleep since tomorrow is one of the 2 days.

R updates and other things I’ve forgotten to come *soon*.

Happy New Year

By Mommy24-7 | January 17, 2008

So…moving on from that interruption :) … we had a great holiday season…very busy but lots of fun! We did lots of Christmas-y stuff like taking R to the local holiday things, she talked to Santa THREE times. I don’t think I ever did that when I was little…just once and done. Kids today :) Our house looks like Toys R Us threw up in every room, but honestly that’s pretty much what we’ve come to be used to around here. I always think of my husband in the Disney store with her when we were on vacation… she just HAD to get the Belle and Cinderella “Barbie” dolls. That wasn’t her talking…he felt she had to have them and of course she wanted them… wrapped around her finger! Anyway, that moment, I remember telling him “and you wonder why I get her things all the time? so weak…”

So, yea, we love her, spoil her, make her happy. She’s such a great little girl though.

My family was here for Christmas and we finally got to meet my brother’s fiance and her mom. We love them. I didn’t doubt we would but it’s always nice to confirm in person. My brother’s such a good person and I’m just so happy that he’s found such a good person to spend his life with. I cooked Christmas dinner which was probably lukewarm and chaotic but I think it went well overall. No one got sick that I know of :) My aunt invited herself and then proceeded to fall asleep on the couch as she usually does at gatherings of any kind. Whatever. The rest of us all had fun and opened gifts, laughed at/with R and rocked out to Rock Band which was amusing. R has her own guitar now, so she joins us with that, or her microphone. Either that or she’ll dance or just ignore us all together :)  I have to say it was quite a fun moment to sing Blitzkrieg Bop and have my mom join me!! That was great! She was doing Nirvana too. It was all so silly. Later on I thought “not sure if this is the impression I need to give out” but well, I guess that’s me and it doesn’t take long to learn that I’m a big goofball.

R received more gifts then she knows what to do with. Yet, she will play with the paper towel roll just as much :) She has lots of things that light up, make noise, move…books, clothes, you name it. She appreciates each and every gift she gets which is really amazing. I just love the light in her eyes and the happiness it gives everyone around her. We held back half the things we had for Christmas for her b-day which is coming up. We were set. Then we hit Target the other day and well, they had a clearance in the toy dept. I swear I’ve NEVER bought so much stuff like that before…because it was on clearance. I couldn’t stop! And R was with me…good example Mommy!! :) It’s mostly in our basement though…she hasn’t gotten any of it but one thing and she hasn’t asked either. She knows it’s for her b-day and for other “rewards”. Yes, she has millions of things, new things to play with, but I think that shows incredible restraint for a little girl!! It’s not like she forgets either. She told B about all the stuff Mommy loaded in the cart :)

The one thing I did give her was her camera. She loves to be in pictures but she’s also interested in taking them sometimes. She loves it. It’s a Vtech Kiddiezoom and takes photos, movies and has 3 games on it too. Very cute. We have lots of pics of the couch and floor but she’s already taken some good ones and she’s learning.

So back to December… we also went to NYC after Christmas. There were 8 of us…so it wasn’t easy getting things done but hopefully everyone had a good enough time. It’s hard to have a big diverse group in a big city and make everyone happy. R had a great time and was such a trooper. We forgot to bring a stroller since we never use one at home and we did LOTS of walking. She walked a lot, Daddy carried her a lot. I carried her a little. She rode the ferris wheel at TRU with B and Uncle J. My dad, M (future sil) and I looked on/took pics/movies and my mom and D (fsil’s mom) rode in another car together.

….Ewww, just have to interrupt my post again… B has his earphones on but eewwww, I can still see the tv over my laptop… yuck. No wonder I can’t sleep sometimes…I subconsciously have these gross, icky creatures in my mind. Yuck.

Ok, need to post tomorrow, getting sleepy… must look at some pics of R before going to bed to erase the other images…

Noise

By Mommy24-7 | January 17, 2008

I can’t seem to get anything written lately…not only because of my daughter keeping me busy, but the constant NOISE of my dear husbands crazy shooting games… he really is a nice, normal guy I swear, but the warped games he plays are just annoying when there’s only one room where we can both sit at night in “peace”. So… I will have to think a bit and write later. “Should I put my earphones on?” he asks after I let him see what I was writing… THANK YOU!!

Little Dancing Girl

By Mommy24-7 | December 15, 2007

I forgot (no surprise) to write about the outing last night except for the fact that we lost R’s hair bow. They shut down the street for a while for a show choir to dance and sing Christmas carols. It was really nice…R loved it…and she got to sit up on Daddy’s shoulders to watch so that was fun too!

Later on, there was a band playing on the sidewalk and we stopped to listen for a while. R danced the whole time and she really gets down. She loved the music and the band loved her… a lot of the audience was watching her as much/more then the band. When we were leaving the sax player said “goodbye little dancing girl”. She thought that was cool.

Ok, I’m really about to wrap gifts… we are now on our second trial of watching a movie…well B’s watching, I’ll be wrapping too. The first one (he keeps dvr’ing them) was awful… stopped it after a few minutes. Not to sure how this one will be. Of course the movie I want to see isn’t available.
